"Your body already knows how to heal. TRE just helps you remember."

Tension & Trauma Release Exercise (TRE®)

Tension and Trauma Release Exercise (TRE®) uses a simple sequence of gentle movements to invite the body’s natural releasing response, which may include subtle shaking or trembling. The response is different for everyone, and there is no expectation that you will shake or experience a particular sensation — especially in your first session.

The exercises are introduced gradually and you remain in control throughout. You can slow down, pause or stop at any point. The aim is not to make anything happen, but to create the conditions for your body to respond in its own way, at its own pace.

Sessions are mostly non-verbal, with less emphasis on thinking or analysing and more space to notice what is happening in your body.

What sessions are like:

  • A simple sequence of movements, introduced at a comfortable pace

  • Time to notice and explore your body's responses without forcing anything

  • A supported, contained environment where you remain in control

  • Time at the end to pause, settle and notice how you feel

Helpful if you experience:
Tension • Restlessness • Poor sleep • Chronic stress • Difficulty relaxing
